 All Christians are meant to be full time workers for Jesus Christ. But few are called by God to leave their homes and employment to spend some time in specialised Christian service. O.C.S. Home Members stay where God wants them to be and can enjoy the following advantages of membership of the Order: 

· training in discipleship and Christian skills 

· regular fellowship with local home and field members 

· participation in the O.C.S. retreat 

· receipt of the newsletter of the Order. 

Home Members also enjoy the opportunity to associate with the many Field Workers in the Order through prayer and through the provision of some financial support. They also receive the newsletter "OCS in Action" . 

Home Members all over South Africa are encouraged to fellowship together as co-workers in Christ and to seek God's will for the Order in the local context. Should you wish to join the order complete the application form and send it to the Secretary of the Order. 

"But I tell you, take a good look at the fields; the crops are now ripe and ready to be harvested". John 4:35 (TEV). 

Members are expected to: 

1. Give themselves constantly to prayer, Bible Study and fellowship. 

2. Seek to win others to Christ. 

3.Be disciplined in their personal life. 

4. Give not less than a tithe to the Lord's work. 

5. Pledge a monthly sum (stipulated by the member) to support, or help to support, a field member.

  Field Membership of the Order of Christian Service is for Christians who lead a disciplined life and have been called by God to surrender all for His Service. Field Workers make themselves available to be sent anywhere and to be put to any service by the Executive Committee of the Order for a period of two years. This period of service may be used by God to clarify the life to which He is calling His servant. 

The Field Worker must be prepared to use any financial resources that he/she may have, and the Order guarantees nothing more than the bare necessities of life. Field Workers are allocated to every kind of position suitable for laymen in churches and missionary institutions, but every job is expected to include some significant evangelistic or missionary opportunities. 

Workers are accepted not so much for their educational qualifications or experience, as for a deep and sincere belief in Jesus Christ and their desire to serve Him. 

If you are at least 18 years of age and believe that God might have a role for you in the Order of Christian Service, then please write to the Secretary or Warden who will then send you an application form to complete.
